The Video by John Thomas Rose that I really, really want you to see, is a hilarious and beautifully handled portrait of our sculptor friend Michele Chapin

Watch the Video here - http://vimeo.com/62299340

Michele has a website with lovely images and details of her work, and classes she offers at her amazing Art Spot known as Stoneworks on Ventura Avenue.  You can visit there any time by appointment - call 805.643.5431.

OR stop by this Friday evening, as Stoneworks is a vibrant part of First Fridays!

A Modern American Ghost Town

 Welcome to Sunset Boulevard......

... located in Empire, Nevada, which...

"...was once a thriving company town. United States Gypsum (USG) owned the town including the land, homes and town facilities. In January of 2011, USG permanently closed its operations in Empire. Over 300 people were forced to leave and a chain link fence surrounds the entire town to this day. Today, Empire is touted as 'America's newest ghost town.'"

There's a nicely-made Video about Empire, made by a talented young man with a poetic eye, whom we met in Ventura, John Thomas Rose -Take a look here!

You can see more of John's work here.

Enjoy!
