A Friday Quickie

I recently ran into a couple of those strange folks - religious fanatics of a sort - liberal Democrats (or, as I usually call them, "Dimmocrats").

These people are as sweet and kind Americans as you could hope to meet - well-educated, generous and thoughtful.  But when it comes to matters of electoral politics, they are as willfully blind as any Jihadist.  They told me that Ralph Nader, a true, uncorrupted American hero who has saved thousands of American lives and been vilified and ostracized for his trouble, is to blame for Al Gore losing the Presidency to "Dubya", a POTUS so potty that even Republicans are ashamed to mention his name.  This as they simultaneously agree that Gore fought a pathetic electoral campaign, and failed to fight for his rights when the Supreme Court stole them from him.

These same people also think that it's a miracle, or at least a wonder of the age, that a Black man was elected President. That, people, is Racism. We shouldn't give a cuss what color of skin our leader has; rather, we should be looking, in the words of the great Martin Luther King, at the content of his character.

And Barry Obama has been showing the content of his character loud and clear recently - giving the usual Washington nod of impunity to the racist, fascist regime in Israel, which is currently attacking schools, hospitals, and even the United Nations. Latest score that I've heard:  30 dead Israelis, mainly soldiers, and over 600 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

I guess there's a price to pay for the Israeli "right to self-defense"....

May I correct myself?

When I ranted the other day about Obama's spinelessness, I didn't mean to imply that we should rush into an invasion of Syria, or anything like it.

The whole issue is very complicated, from the point of view of Middle Eastern intrigue as well the point of view of America's long history of using false pretexts to attack other countries. "Remember The Maine!". Not to mention what the British Press referred to as W's "dodgy dossier", the lies that dragged America's allies into the ghastly Iraq mess.

I hope to get myself together soon to write something about Syria, but don't wait for any profound conclusions....

Obama Makes Us Sick

Has the guy ever made a stand on principle about anything?

On Syria - "If you use chemical weapons on your own people, you'll be crossing a red line"
"Oh, you crossed a red line?  Well, er, we're gravely concerned"

On the Egyptian military, whose country receives $1.5 billion total per year from us, $1.3 billion going to the military, which presumably means pouring profits into the coffers of our obscene Arms Industry - "This money is our leverage over the Egyptian Army.... but if we actually do anything, then we won't have any leverage" (even though US Law requires him to cut off military aid from a country which suffers a military coup.)

And now on Fracking - this just in from the Sierra Club:

Bradley Manning is facing a military tribunal, a joke court which has already been seen to be interfered with by mysterious persons unknown, presumably from the "Intelligence Community".  His case has been publicly pre-judged months ago, by the alleged Constitutional Scholar and joke Socialist, President Obama.  He may face the death penalty, although the signs are that he will plead guilty to a lesser charge.

The crime he's alleged to have committed, is passing information from an Army computer to WikiLeaks.

(Many people believe that the reason Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, is sequestered in the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, resisting extradition to Sweden, is that the Obama administration is furious with the leaks he has made to the world's Press, of true information about how the Western powers behave in the Middle East.

The US Government have alleged that WikiLeaks' actions endangered their agents abroad, although WikiLeaks and the Newspapers they passed their information to, spent weeks vetting the material to ensure that no sensitive names were revealed.)

Too Big to Jail - HUGE support for the Cause!

Following up on my last post from April 4th, "Too big to fail?  Too big to exist!" - we learn tha 333,000 signatures have been presented in ONE DAY to US Attorneys across the country, demanding an end to Too Big to Jail and a start to criminal prosecutions against Wall Street bankers.   

Here's the report from The Campaign for a Fair Settlement: 

"333,000 signatures, 13 groups, eight cities, one demand: End Too Big to Jail. Delivered.  

This past Tuesday April 2, groups from coast to coast converged on US Attorney’s offices to hand-in the petition you signed to President Obama demanding an end to Too Big to Jail and a start to criminal prosecutions against Wall Street bankers.   

In Charlotte, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, St. Louis, and San Diego, members of our coalition of 13 local and national organizations watched either the local US Attorneys themselves or representatives from their offices accept your petition. We even got a police escort to speak directly to US Attorney Richard Callahan in St. Louis!

Jon Stewart's "Daily Show" nails it again!  Did you know that the slimy criminals who infest our halls of Government are allowed to amend our laws without even having to attach their names to their crimes?

But first, while I'm on the subject of our useless leaders:  that habit that Obama-the-haha!-Socialist and the senile Harry Reid have, of not advancing any courageous measure whatsoever, on the excuse that they don't have enough votes to win (remember the Public Option on Healthcare?) - that habit that we all just assumed was the usual Dimmocratic habitual cowardice?  Well, that habit also has the consequence of never making them stand up and be on record for what they vote for or against.  Not to labor the point, but suppose you're a cowardly Dimm whose constituents are clamoring for Gun Control, but you're quietly stuffing your face at the NRA trough? Thanks to Obama's chickenshittery, you never have to say publicly what you stand for.
