Zap! The Electric Beemer!

We all know BMW, makers of the "Ultimate Driving Machine", whose cars I used to test-drive - and very wonderful they were!

I've just discovered that "The Beemer" is going electric! Meet the i3, BMW's first mass market electric car and the company has invested EUR 400 million into its production at the Leipzig factory. 

Here's the production line where they create the beautiful silent beast:

and let me tell you, this factory in Leipzig, Germany, is a hell of a long way from the stinking pit I worked at in Luton, England for Vauxhall, part of General Motors, in 1969!
